Michael Fairclough provides general oversight of legal matters, coordinates the work of outside counsel, participates in legal due diligence, and assists with the negotiation and documentation of transactions. Previously, he was a senior partner at O’Melveny & Myers LLP. His practice emphasized mergers and acquisitions, general corporate work and the representation of private equity firms, investment advisors and mutual funds. Michael earned a juris doctor degree from the University of Utah. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
Tom Denot is involved in the sourcing and execution of portfolio investments. Prior to joining SEP, Tom was a Director at Brightwell Capital Partners, a debt restructuring and turnaround consulting firm. Prior to that, Tom was part of the middle market leveraged finance loan origination teams at Emporia Capital Management and Union Bank. Tom received a bachelor’s degree from University of California at Berkeley and a master's degree in business administration from University of California at Los Angeles.
Scott Yingling is involved in the diligence and execution of portfolio investments. Prior to joining SEP, Scott was an analyst at Harris Williams & Co. Scott earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting from Claremont McKenna College.
Dave Reed is responsible for sourcing investment opportunities, cultivating relationships with industry leading executives and performing company and industry due diligence. Prior to joining SEP, he worked as a Director in business development for six years at The Gores Group, a private equity firm. Dave received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Pepperdine University.
Nico Cifarelli is responsible for sourcing investment
opportunities, cultivating relationships with industry leading executives
and performing company and industry due diligence.
Prior to joining SEP, he specialized in sourcing real estate investment opportunities
for a regional financial institution. Nico received a bachelor's degree from
California State Polytechnic University.
Jeremy Hutchings is responsible for sourcing investment opportunities, cultivating relationships with industry leading executives and performing preliminary company and industry due diligence. Prior to joining SEP, he worked for four years at a directed search and buy-side advisory firm. Jeremy received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah.
Jonelle Jue is responsible for the financial management of the firm and its limited partnerships including accounting, tax and reporting functions. Prior to joining SEP, Jonelle was a senior manager at Ernst & Young LLP. Jonelle received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Washington and a master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University. She is a certified public accountant.
Lauren Brecht is responsible for assisting in the financial management of the firm and its limited partnerships including accounting, tax and reporting functions. Prior to joining SEP, Lauren was a senior at Ernst & Young LLP. Lauren received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern California. She is a certified public accountant.
Christmas Abellanosa is responsible for the firm’s operational and administrative matters. In addition, she assists with various limited partnership matters, including marketing, capital calls, distributions and reporting. Christmas received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of the Philippines.
